Maleku is named in honor of the indigenous Maleku tribe of Costa Rica — a community of just 600 people whose handcrafted art, deep-rooted culture, and fierce commitment to preserving their heritage inspire everything we do. Their resilience reminds us that the smallest communities can carry the most powerful stories.

This one begins in a Costa Rican kitchen. I’m Roberto — Beto — and cooking has been my language since childhood, shaped by my parents, refined in culinary school, and carried across borders to Minnesota. Maleku is my way of bringing a piece of home to you. Pura Vida!

Maleku is a mobile coffee and empanada bar serving handcrafted espresso drinks and homemade empanadas made from family recipes passed down through generations. We show up to farmers markets, private events, corporate gatherings, and everything in between — bringing the warmth of Costa Rican food culture wherever we go.

We’re also proud to call Rosemount, Minnesota home. Stop by our brick and mortar shop for your morning coffee, a fresh empanada, or just a moment to slow down and savor something made with care.
